While Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy account for many of the retinal concerns we treat at Associated Eye Surgeons, there are numerous retinal diseases that can effect sight and cause patients to permanently change their day to day lives. Early detection is key as efficacy of treatments can depend on how early the condition is diagnosed.
We encourage all persons over age 50, or those with a family history of Macular Degeneration to schedule a dilated retinal eye appointment with Dr. Kriegstein or Dr. Bierman. Contact us if you have any concerns or are exhibiting any symptoms including: blind spots, distorted central vision, or straight lines no longer appearing straight.
Be sure to bring your sunglasses and/or a driver to your dilated eye check up. Drops will cause photosensitivity and blur at near for a period of time following your appointment.
